Margherita Town Committee slammed

MARGHERITA, May 25: Margherita Town Committee was formed in the year 2003 for the first time. Today after 13 years of its formation, the AR&T Colony of Margherita which falls under Ward Number 4 of Margherita Town is in a pitiable condition, with not a single development work having taken place in the area.

The residents of AR&T Colony are suffering due to the pathetic condition of the roads, no streetlights, no garbage disposal system and poor draige system. “We are only remembered during the time of election for our valuable votes but after that nobody cares for us,” said the local residents.

Margherita Town Committee was ruled by the Congress for two consecutive terms and in the year 2015, Margherita Town Committee came under BJP rule but then also things remained the same as not a single development work was sanctioned for AR&T Colony, they further alleged.

“Margherita Town Committee is showing step-motherly treatment towards the residents of AR&T Colony and if they do not take up any development work soon then in the coming days the people of the area will intensify agitation,” said the local residents.
