Martyrs' Day observed in Joysagar

Joysagar: Swahid Divas was observed in Sivasagar district on Monday. The Sivasagar district AASU unit, with the help of Sivasagar Regional AASU, observed the day in Sivasagar Swahid Uddyan. Floral tribute was paid and an open meeting was also held where AASU central committee leaders and many educationists and prominent social workers took part. Besides, the Sivasagar District Asom Gana Parishad also observed the day at the AGP Sivasagar district office in Hospital Road of the town.

The Sivasagar district BJP and Sivasagar Press Club observed the day. In Swahid Mukali Bazar of Dolmukh Chariali in the town, the Sanmilita Byobasayee Sanstha held a programme to mark the day. The elder brother of martyr Ranjit Borpujari and also the president of the Sivasagar Bar Association, AJ Borpujari formally lit the earthen lamp on the occasion and he also offered floral tribute to the martyrs of the Assam Movement.
