May Day observed

GUWAHATI, May 1: Joining the worldwide Labour Day celebration, several trade union organizations observed the Day with a renewed commitment for the welfare of the labourers in various places across the State today. Befitting the occasion, a series of rallies, symposiums and seminars were organized at different parts in Guwahati. Alongside the celebration, the city also equally witnessed chakka bandh called by various motor vehicle organizations which has caused trouble to the regular goers of the city. The regional political party, AGP also centrally observed the day in collaboration with its allied wing Shrom Parisad. Commemorating the day, the AGP took out a rally from Fancy Bazaar area. In an open session organised by AGP, Shrom Parisad president Mahendra Talukdar, party general secretaries Ramandra Narayan Kalita and Narul Hussian. besides others attended the function.
