MDM rice allotted to Hailakandi

Hailakandi, Feb 2:  Rice under Mid Day Meal (MDM) scheme has been allotted to Hailakandi district for upper primary and primary schools. The rice allotted in January against the 4th quarter (January to March 2017) under MDM scheme is 729.34 quintals for upper primary (Class VI to VIII) and 962.47 quintals for primary stage (Class I to V) covering a period of 17 and 14 days respectively, stated a press release.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Moloy Bora has asked the Area Mager, Food Corporation of India, Silchar to release the allotted quantity of MDM rice to the Gaon Panchayat Samabay Samittees and Wholesale Consumers Cooperative Society at the earliest. Bora asked the headmasters and head teachers to lift the rice within the stipulated timeframe for implementation of the scheme in their respective schools. The Deputy Commissioner also directed them to ensure proper utilization of MDM rice and submission of utilization certificates on time.
