Me-Dam-Me-Phi celebrated in Demow

DEMOW, January 31: Under the patroge of Demow Regiol Committee of All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Me-Dam-Me-Phi was celebrated with a two-day long programme at Demow Public Playground.

On Saturday the rituals of the festival began with the Phurlung Puja in the afternoon which was followed by the offerings and prayers. On Sunday, in the morning tributes were paid in the burial ground of Chaolong Sukapha, after which a prize money essay and art competition was organized in memory of Dam Chao Hara Gogoi among two groups from Class 1 to Class VIII and Class VIII to Class X.

The Dam-Phi Puja began with the rituals which were followed by the offerings and prayers by the Pandit Parishad. A community feast was also arranged by the organizing committee. Chao Sandeep Gogoi, Chao Nipon Barua, Chao Sumeet Handique and Chao Moon Gogoi were present in the entire Me-Dam-Me-Phi celebration.
