Mechuka-Aalo Road Link Snaps In Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: Surface communication between Shi-Yomi and West Siang districts of Arunachal Pradesh has reportedly remained cut off after massive landslides washed away a portion of the Aalo-Mechuka road. According to sources, the rain-triggered landslide washed away a huge portion of road near Roying village under Siang district in the intervening night of June 9 and 10 last resulting in total snapping of surface communication, official sources informed here on Wednesday. The transportation of people and essential commodities to the region has been badly hit in the last two days, the source added. Meanwhile, many tourists, who went to Mechuka valley, were also reported to be left stranded in many places.
