Media fraternity condemns intimidation

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

Itagar, March 7: Condemning continued misdemeanors and irresponsible behaviour by persons claiming to be members, affiliates of the All Aruchal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) against members of the state press, the Aruchal Press Club, Aruchal Pradesh Union of Working Jourlists and Aruchal Electronic Media Association have taken a unimous decision to reinstate the blanket ban on the said federation. Despite repeated meetings and assurances that the current factiolism within the said federation will not lead to any attacks on the press, recently some members claiming to represent the federal units of the federation barged into three media houses and intimidated the press persons. It has therefore, been decided that it is in the best interest of all concerned that no press release, advertisement, circulars relating to AAPPTF and its affiliates will be entertained by media houses affiliated with the Aruchal Press Club. The decision is effective immediately and is binding until notified otherwise, a press release said here today.
