Mega health camp in remote village of Kokrajhar organized

KOKRAJHAR: The People’s Aid, an NGO working for humanity based at Kokrajhar in collaboration with NHM, Kokrajhar organized a ‘Mega Health Mela and awareness meeting on education’ at Laimuthi playground in remote place of Kokrajhar district on Thursday where as many as 1,412 patients hailing from 24 villages of the area underwent health check-up.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. J. Ahamed, Joint Director of BTC Health Services. Uttam Kr. Brahma, District Programme Manager (DPM) of NHM, Kokrajhar gave his inaugural speech while Lawrence Islary, General Secretary of the ABSU graced the programme as chief guest and delivered speech on fundamental rights on health, education and other basic human needs.

Dr. Ushad Ullah, Additional CMNHO also delivered speech on health issues faced by rural population. Dr. Diganta Boro, ONG, Dr. Sukleswar Boro, Paediatric, Dr. P.Pathar, Dentist, Dr. Bimal Medhi, ENT, Dr. Suchma Brahma, Eye specialist and Dr. Mihir Kr. Basumatary, Former Joint Director of BTC, Health Services served the programme as medical staff in facilitating the patients to have their health checked up. The programme was led by Nava Kumar Basumatary, president of the NGO as chairperson.
