Mega mock-drill on earthquake by District Disaster Management Authority, Golaghat

Golaghat: A mega mock-drill on earthquake will be conducted by the District Disaster Management Authority, Golaghat in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on December 19 and December 20. The exercise will be conducted by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Golaghat in association with a number of agencies like State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), CRPF, Assam Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Civil Defence and home guards and various line departments.

The overall objective of the exercise is to review the disaster management plan along with identifying gaps and to enhance coordination among the stakeholders and responding agencies following the concept/principle of Incident Response System (IRS) at State and district level. This exercise will also harness the strengths and capabilities of the emergency responders, district administrations, hospitals and non-governmental organizations as they prepare to meet the earthquake catastrophes in Assam which is located in the most vulnerable seismic zone. It will also bring role clarity among the responders and create public awareness.

BOKO: Kamrup District Disaster Management Authority will conduct a mock drill on earthquake on December 19 and December 20 at GNRC Hospital Amingaon, Pachgaon Higher Secondary School, Amingaon Bazar, District Transport Office and LPG Bottling Plant at Mirza in Kamrup rural district. NDRF, SDRF and trained volunteers will participate in this drill.
