SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) leader Prestone Tynsong has urged members who are in the ruling coalition in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) to ensure stability of the Executive Committee (EC). This advice from Tynsong comes in the wake of the recent squabble between two MDCs of the NPP – Chairman PN Syiem and Deputy Chief Executive Member (Deputy CEM) Pyniaid Sing Syiem.

It may be mentioned that to solve the difference between the two – Tynsong had summon the duo recently in his office chamber. Acknowledging that he had summoned both Syiem and Pyniaid, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “I had summoned them with the intention that both should try to reconcile and work together to ensure the stability of the present EC in the Council.”

Tynsong also urged the two MDCs to avoid going to the media and as responsible leader, they should try to resolve the problem amicably. “I would not like to see the war of words in the media,” the Deputy Chief Minister said. It may be mentioned that the EC in the KHADC has been formed under the banner of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) comprising of MDCs from, UDP, NPP, HSPDP, PDF and independents.
