Shillong: In view of prevailing security situation in Meghalaya as well as possible impact after events on either side of the border, after taking over as new Inspector General Meghalaya Frontier, Kuldeep Saini, meets with the Director General of Meghalaya Police, R Chandranathan, IPS on 11th Jan’2019 and discussed with him on security situation and the progress of fencing in all the forward areas on International Border of Meghalaya.
The Inspector General, BSF also briefed about the border domination and trans-border crimes. During the meeting mainly focused on need of greater synergy and understanding between both the forces. Shri Chandranathan appreciated the duties performed and efforts by the Sentinels of Border, without caring for their personal comfort inspite of hardships due to remoteness of the location, extreme climatic conditions and hostile geographical features. He complimented the Force as “India’s First Line of
Defense” and playing a pivotal role, contributing immensely towards all facets of national security.
The Director General of Meghalaya Police extended his best wishes to all BSF personnel & their families and complimented that the Force will continue to achieve excellence and safeguard the International border of Meghalaya through its deeds of courage and valour.
