Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Pays Tribute to Indira Gandhi

GUWAHATI: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Wednesday observed the 34th Death Anniversary of late Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India.

The function was presided over by James S Lyngdoh, working president of the Meghalaya PCC and also attended by George B Lyngdoh, MLA Umroi; Kimfa S. Marbaniang, MLA Rambrai-Jyrngam; Kennedy C Khyriem former MLA and Donevan Kharwanlang MDC, Sohra, besides the office bearers of the MPCC, Shillong City Congress Committee, the District Congress Committees, the Block Congress Committees and the functionaries of the Mahila Congress and Youth Congress.

The programme started with the offering of floral tributes led by the working president MPCC and followed on by leaders present. Meba Kharkongor president Shillong City Mahila Congress gave the welcome address. The keynote address was given by George B. Lyngdoh, MLA Umroi constituency. The gathering was also addressed by John F Kharshiing, general secretary of MPCC. The vote of thanks was proposed by Fernandez S Dkhar, general secretary, Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress, stated a release.
