SHILLONG: The Meghalaya SSA Schools’ Association (MSSASA) Central Body representing the Elementary Teachers teaching in over 5139 Lower Primary and Upper Primary SSA supported Schools across the State under budget head of “Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan” presently known as “Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan” expressed its gratitude to the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government and the Education Department for the hard-working, dedication and commitment to the welfare of the teaching community and for the tremendous time and energy spent during the last 6 months to bring changes in the education sector despite of several challenges and come up with the much awaited “Education Policy”. The Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) also expressed its special thanks to the Education Department and the MDA Govt for the bold steps and initiatives taken to fulfilled the demand of the Association on the agenda to retain the current salary of SSA Teachers even though the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of School Education and Literacy, Govt of India had changed its norms on the financial support to teachers salary from April 2018 onwards in the Integrated Scheme for School Education - “Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan” and also for created a corpus fund from the State Budget for Education Department to maintain the uninterrupted flow of fund due to delay in receiving funds from the Government of India especially with regards to payment of salary to SSA teachers.
