Itagar, Nov 15: Reiterating Centre’s commitment towards Aruchal, MoS for Fince and Corporate Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal on Sunday said that the region is of paramount importance and that the assurances given by New Delhi will surely reflect in the upcoming budget. Meghwal’s assurance came after reviewing the status of the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) being implemented in the State during a meeting held at Zomkhang Hall here, an official report informed here today. Speaking on the importance of road for development, the minister said that he would see to it that the fund constraint highlighted in the presentation on BRO roads is included within the supplementary demand so that the same may be taken up during the parliamentary session. Meghwal ensured that unreleased amount with respect to the upcoming Medical College and 500 Bedded Hospital in harlagun, required and pending funds under PWD, RWD and Urban development department would also be included.

When apprised about the ARUNMEDICITY project for future expansion of health sector which would include medical schools, hospitals and accommodation and for which an area of 180 acres have been earmarked, he assured that the project would be included in the budget.

He asked the PWD to explore connecting Aruchal under Bharat Mala Project and prepare DPR accordingly and further advised that various requirements including survey, augmentation and transmission under power sector may be placed under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yoja (DDUGJY).

The minister also directed the State government to ensure construction of separate toilets for boys and girls in all schools and assured that the enrollment norms for upgradation of schools to higher levels would also be relaxed considering sparse population in the region.

With respect to Tawang district he said that certain amount for draige system would be allocated in the next budget. However, he asked the State government to conduct a survey/investigation through an expert organization and submit DPR.

Meghwal also assured to press for early clearance of Lumla-Tashigang road with the ministry of Exterl Affairs. Director Fince Dhiraj Kumar, additiol PS to minister Anshu Bhardwaj, State Principal Secretary (coordition, home and personnel) Satya Gopal, MLA Tsering Tashi and planning joint director P Mishra were also present in the meeting, the report added.
