Mehbooba Mufti blocks Gautam Gambhir in Twitter

Guwahati: The cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir who has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that he had been blocked by Peoples' Democratic Party's Mehbooba Mufti on the social networking site after a back and forth on Article 370 days after Gambhir's Twitter spat with National Conference leader Omar Abdullah seeking for separate Prime Minister for Kashmir.

Mufti had criticized the BJP over public interest litigation filed in Delhi High Court seeking a direction to ban Jammu and Kashmir politicians Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and herself from participating in the Lok Sabha election starting from tomorrow over their statements against the Indian Constitution.

Mufti wrote on Twitter on Monday, "Why waste time in court. Wait for the BJP to scrap Article 370. It will automatically debar from fighting elections since Indian Constitution won't be applicable to Jammu and Kashmir anymore. If you do not understand, o people of India, you will be erased. You would not have your tales written in history."

Replying back to Mufti's tweet, Gautam Gambhir also tweeted saying, "Yeh Bharat Hai. Koi aap jaisa dhabba nahi jo mit jayega (This is India and It's not a blot like you which can be erased)."

Mufti again reacted after 10 hours of Gambhir's tweet commenting on his cricket career and blocked him adding "Hope your political innings in BJP isn't as abysmal as your cricket career."

She also wrote, "I am worried for your mental health. Am used to people trolling but this level of stalking is unhealthy. I imagine most people sleep at night. Here blocking you now so you can do the two rupees per tweet trolling somewhere else."

As the sparring continued, Gambhir said that her comment shows the lack of depth in personality. He has written, "Oh! So you have unblocked my twitter handle. You need ten hours to respond to my tweet and come up with such a pedestrian analogy. Too slow. It shows the lack of depth in your personality. No wonder you guys have struggled to solve the issues at hand."

Gautam Gambhir also asked Mufti in his tweet, "Most welcome @Mehbooba Mufti Ma'am, happy to be blocked by a callous individual. By the way, at the time of writing this tweet there are 1,365,386,456 Indians. How will you block them?"

In another tweet, Mufti said, "Cricketers should stick to. Why wade into politics especially when it comes to issues like Kashmir? They have no knowledge about it. Take your aggression to the field and once you are done hand your boots with grace. Disgraceful."
