Mental Toughness Of Riyan Parag Is Impressive: Jake Lush McCrum

GUWAHATI: The Head of Operation of Rajathan Royals Jake Lush McCrum visited Guwahati on Saturday and inspected the ACA stadium at Barsapra. Gossip mill has gone that the Rajasthan Royals are interested to bring a couple of IPL matches next year to Guwahati and McCrum’s visit is connected with it. However, during a media briefing on the ACA premises on Saturday he refused to make any specific comment on this regard. Some of the selected questions and the reply of McCrum from media conference are as given here.

TS: Tell us the reason of your visit.

(With a smile) Riyan Parag hails from this city and it is the reason. Actually I am here to inspect the infrastructure of the ACA stadium in Guwahati.

TS: Your assessment on the infrastructure of ACA stadium?

It’s good. I should say fantastic. I have visited the main ground and the practice turf. All are very nice.

TS: So we can expect IPL matches in the next season in Guwahati?

It’s too early to make any comments. But I can say that it is certainly one of the top quality stadiums in India.

TS: How was the season for Rajasthan Royals?

We played well and even beat champion Mumbai Indians twice this year. So I can say we have narrowly missed the play off.

TS: Your comment on Riyan Parag, the new find of this year’s IPL.

I am very much impressed on the mental toughness of the boy. His mental state in the middle was superior to his batting and bowling on some of the occasions. Along with batting or bowling, you got to be mentally tough, and Riyan’s got that. That’s the reason he performed so well this season.

TS: Will Riyan be automatic choice for Rajasthan Royals next year?

We will be happy to sign up Riyan in future with this year having performed so well in this season.
