Merapani Youth Under Custody of Pakistan Marine Force

MERAPANI: Simon Saikia (33), a youth of Nabagrram village under Merapani Police Station, has been kept under custody of the Pakistan marine force, said sources. Simon was working in a private company in Gujarat for more than a year. According to family members, he went to catch fish in the sea along with his colleagues on November 27. But unfortunately their boat touched the international sea boundary of Pakistan and he was allegedly captured by the marine force of Pakistan.

His family members lodged an FIR at Merapani Police Station. They have appealed to the Indian Government to rescue Simon from the custody of the Pakistan marine force. Meanwhile, various student and social organizations have urged the Indian Government to take steps for immediate release of Simon.
