Miscreant loots Gaurisagar residence

GAURISAGAR: Sensation prevailed in Gaurisagar when an unidentified miscreant looted cash and gold ornaments in broad daylight from the house of Ranjit Hazarika, proprietor of Hazarika Sound Service, Gaurisagar, and a resident of Gaurisagar Mitong Par (Phukan Phadia village) near Gaurisagar-Sonaribari road, on Monday.

Ranjit Hazarika went to his business establishment like other days. His only son Manash Hazarika, who is the secretary of AASU, Gaurisagar Regional Unit, went to Sivasagar in the morning. At 10 am his wife Bonti Hazarika also went to Gaurisagar Tini Ali for shopping by locking the main entrance gate of the house. A Scooty rider entered Hazarika’s house by breaking the main entrance grill lock. The miscreant entered Bonti Hazarika’s bedroom and broke the Godraj almirah and looted Rs 30,000 and gold ornaments worth more than Rs 1 lakh. The family members immediately informed Gaurisagar Police Station. Before looting this house, the miscreants entered an ice factory near Hazarika’s house and video footage was also submitted to Gaurisagar Police Station. But police are yet to trace the miscreants.
