Miscreants attack Railway staff on duty, Itanagar

ITANAGAR: Unidentified miscreants attacked Railway technical staffs on duty while they were checking the railway tracks in Doimukh circle early Monday morning.

Two staffs were injured in the attack. Informing that he received a written information from Niranjan Kumar, track maintainer of Gumto railway station, Papum Pare district Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo said while Niranjan along with Ramesh Kumar was coming back after checking the railway tracks at 4 am, a group of about 8-10 boys surrounded them in between Gumto-Naharlagun railway station at 14/1-2 near Amba village and physically assaulted them and snatched away their mobiles and wallets with few cash.

The SP said, accordingly a case under section 394 of Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Doimokh police station and an investigation launched. When contacted, Doimukh PS OC Padi Payang said, we are investigating the case and strong action will be taken against the perpetrators.
