Mizoram CM Lal Thanhawala’s boost to Mizoram Youth Commission

During a meeting of Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) nodal department officials, Mizoram CM Lal Thanhawala presented Rs 120 lakhs to MYC Chairperson Joseph Lahlimpuia. The meeting saw the presence of new commission members Dr. Tawnenga, Prof J Zorema and Lalhriachhuana and was held at the chairpersons' office chamber in Aizawl on Wednesday.

The MYC plans to utilize the fund in its project aimed at encouraging youths of Mizoram for civil services examination.

The Commission Chairperson also highlighted the initiatives taken by MYC towards providing coaching facilities to students preparing for UPSC, IIT-JEE and NEET examinations at low cost.

Other initiatives taken up by the commission like signing up of an agreement with Alternative Learning System (ALS) for online coaching class and a corporate social responsibility (CSR) scholarship for students were also discussed during the meeting.

The new members of the commission also emphasized on the need to sponsor Mizoram youths in Delhi who are preparing for UPSC examinations.

The attendees of the meeting mulled on the significance of formulating a better youth policy which makes provisions for IIT-JEE and NEET coaching scholarships to students of Mizoram by conducting scholarship examinations for Class XI (science) stream students at Lunglei and Aizawl centers on July 14 next and IAS coaching scholarship examinations on July 21
