As stated in the final electoral roll published on September 27, the number of voters in Mizoram has increased by 1.14 per cent over the last voter's list. The new number of voters in the state reveals that this time there will be 8,662 more voters in comparison to the previous number.

However, the Electoral Officer also said that this figure will differ by the last day of filing nomination as the roll revision process will continue till the last day and the newly found figures will also be updated every day.

Among the eight districts of the state, Aizawl has the highest number of voters as the district has 14 assembly constituencies in it. The total number of voters in Aizawl district only are 2,88,322. Clearing the doubts on the voting rights of the Bru voters, Shashank, citing the ECI directive, said that no Bru voters would be allowed to exercise franchise outside Mizoram in the upcoming assembly elections.

The officer further added that Mizoram is preparing for the forthcoming election to the 40- member state legislative assembly in full swing.
