Shillong, July 25: Martin M Danngo on Wednesday formally joined the Nationalist People’s Party (NPP) and confidently lashed out at all of his likely opponents while asserting that he will retain the Ranikor seat which he is all set to contest on an NPP ticket.

Danggo, once a Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and Cabinet Minister under the past regime resigned as an elected Congress MLA of Ranikor last month. His resignation was a political fallout with the Congress leadership though he told newsmen that the Chief Minister decision to upgrade Ranikor administrative block to a civil sub-division compelled him to resigned as a congress legislator and join the NPP to seek re-election. Danggo in his speech expressed his sense of gratitude and obligation to Chief Minister Conrad K.Sangma for up-grading of the Ranikor block.
