MLA Techi Kaso participates in cleanliness drive in Arunachal

ITANAGAR: Local MLA Techi Kaso participated in a cleanliness drive organized by the All Itanagar Youth Welfare Association (AIYWA) to revive the lost beauty of the Itafort, southern gate on Wednesday here.

Addressing the youths Kaso urged the youths of the capital complex to maintain cleanliness all around the locality. He stressed that Itafort being a historic site should be maintained cleanliness, as many people from different state visits the place to know the history of it.

Citing the example of TRIHMS hospital Kaso said that, though the hospital building looks so beautiful from outside, but as soon as one enters, there is lots of dirt’s all around especially the colored spits of Pan Masala.

Condemning the recent incident at Mechuka where 3 boys and few tourists were trashed by the locals, Kaso said that such incidents should not be repeated. “Our state has great potential on Tourism aspects and such acts of few vested groups will diminish the hard earn reputation of the state,” Kaso said.

Meanwhile, President AIYWA Payum Tabu said that the besides cleanliness drive it was also a message to the youths of the state to keep clean the historical place. “This place is known for its historical importance where many tourists visit and so it should be kept clean,” Tabu said.

He also said that the site has been protected and preserved for many years and this should be continued by maintaining cleanliness. “Though the concerned department is working on its own capacity to maintain cleanliness around the site, it is also our responsibility to keep the area clean,” he added.
