Mob vandalizes business establishments in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), March 7: The attack on the AASU office at Silapathar in Dhemaji district by activists of Nikhil Bharat Bangali Udbastu Samanvay Samiti (NIBBUSS) was condemned by various organizations in Golaghat district on Tuesday.  Golaghat AASU condemned the incident and demanded arrest of the culprits. The assistant general secretary of AASU, Monuwar Hussain said that the attack on AASU would never be tolerated. He slammed the Sarbanda Sonowal-led State Government and demanded immediate action against the Bengali organization. After receiving of news of the attack on the AASU office at Silapathar, in Golaghat town at Boloram point some unknown miscreants attacked Bengali people’s business establishments and destroyed various items of the shops. More than four shops were broken down and goods destroyed. Organizations like AJYCP, Oikya Se Asom, OBC students’ Union, Scheduled Caste Students’ Union and Ahom tiol People’s Forum Golaghat unit condemned the act of  NIBBUSS and demanded the State Government to punish the culprits who attacked on AASU office.  AJYCP Golaghat unit, Oikya Se Asom, and AISF burnt effigies of Himanta Biswa Sarma and Rajth Singh in heart of the Golaghat town. Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) called a press meet at Prasanti Lodge in Golaghat town. Addressing media persons, the general secretary of KMSS condemned the incident that took place at Silapathar. KMSS slammed the State Government as well as the rendra Modi-led BJP government. He said that the attack on AASU exposed the reality of future Assam.
