Money, arms and ammunition seized in Arunachal

ITANAGAR: Following the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in an intensive checking at various points of the capital, a police team on Monday seized Rs 2 lakh. SP capital T Amo said that more than Rs 35 lakh has been seized by the Capital Police alone. The Capital police around 7 pm on Monday further seized Rs. 4,17,500 at Gophur Tinali.

The total cash seized in Capital Complex alone till date stands at around Rs 60,77,300. He also said that after the implementation of MCC, the capital police department has seized 23 caches of beer along with other brands of alcohol. Till date, one .22 bore rifle with telescope mounted, two air guns, 14 live rounds of SBBL gun, 15 live rounds of .32 revolver and 10 packets of air gun, and 14 machetes have been seized while 43 guns have been deposited.
