GUWAHATI, June 11: Trouble mounted for Bikash Baruah ahead of the ACA’s annual general meeting, as a police case was today lodged against the former secretary of the association on charges of misappropriating BCCI funds meant for cricketers.

The FIR was lodged at Paltan Bazar Police station by former cricketer Bhaskar Jyoti Barman alleging that from 2011-12 to 2012-13, the BCCI had dispatched money for him in the form of cheques. However he came to know about these cheques only through his income tax e-filing statement.  “This was because controversial ACA secretary Bikash Baruah had tried to misappropriate the hard earned money meant for cricketers like me,” Barman stated in his FIR. Seeking justice, Barman asked the police to investigate into the matter.
