Mother's Day celebrated

Goalpara, May 10: Chandan-Shamala Library, a forerunner in providing all-round child education in the town, celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday by arranging a free health camp. The camp was aimed at providing free health check-up along with free medicines to the underprivileged people. A team of four doctors, Jyotirmoy Das, Rupjyoti Rabha, Yusufa Ahmed and Shah Alom rendered day-long service to the patients.  “Around 700 people from the areas like Bhatipara, Kalitapara, Boro Bazar, Notun Bosti, Jogdoba and Karbola attended the camp,” said Mril Padma Das, an office bearer of the NGO. Chandan Shamala Library was founded by two NRIs, Chandan Das and Shamala Das, in 2011.
