Motion moved on non-tribals

SHILLONG, June 21: A motion to include non-tribals under the ambit of Trading by Non-Tribal Act, 1954, who are practicing various professions within the jurisdiction of Khasi Hills, was raised by KHM, MDC, Adelbert Nongrum. “Non-Tribals in the legal profession, doctors, teachers, engineers, shopkeepers, cobblers etc are to be brought under the purview of the regulation,” he said.Stating that non-tribals need to obtain and apply for license for running any business, he said, “Any business or work which earnings should be brought under the act,” he said.
