Motor workers' union demands compensation

SIVASAGAR, Nov 12: Expressing condemtion over the alleged brutal murder of a car driver of Sivasagar, All Assam Motor Workers’ Union, Sivasagar District Committee has demanded adequate compensation for the bereaved family. Sensation triggered in Sivasagar when the body of Gopal Das was recovered recently. Gopal Das, a driver by profession, was a resident of Konwerpur Jugonia village area under Sivasagar Police Station. As per reports, the miscreants had rented the deceased’s car from Sivasagar and then brutally murdered him by strangling him to death. They then drove away in the car and dumped the body in gaon. The union’s advisor Pranmoy Rajguru and general secretary Haidar Hussain demanded the government and police administration to ensure security of drivers and common people as well. The union also demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
