Mountain Terrain Bike (MTB) cyclists  reach Kamba

Itanagar: Eighty cyclists participating in the second edition of the Dalmia MTB (Mountain Terrain Bike) Arunachal Hornbill Flight international cycling event along with bikers from abroad which reached Kamba in West Siang district on Monday have left for Yapik on Tuesday. The team was flagged off from Itanagar by Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on November 14 last. The MTB team will reach Mechuka in Shi-Yomi district tomorrow to be a part of Adventure@ Mechuka. The main objective behind the race is to foster unity, goodwill, oneness and promote tourism in this hilly terrain of India.

The team was given a warm reception by Liromoba MLA Nyamar Karbak during their night stay at Kamba. The MLA expressed his gratitude to all for undertaking such a strainous cycling to promote adventure tourism in this part of the country.

A Honda Menjio from Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district is performing second in the overall performance.

The event conceptualized by Rijiju is being held in seven stages covering a distance of 650 kilometers. About eightybikers from ten countries including USA, Portugal, Canada, Germany, UK, Nepal and Bhutan are participating in the event with a prize money worth 22.55 lakh.
