Mountain Terrain Biking (MTB) Flagged off at Itanagar

ITANAGAR: Organized by the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, the second edition of Mountain Terrain Biking (MTB) 2018 - Tawang was flagged off here at IG Park, Itanagar on Monday.

Speaking to this day the Director Sports & Youth Affairs of the state DK Dingle informed that all together, there are 23 riders from different states of the Northeast except Sikkim. “There are also few riders from Delhi and Uttrakhand who are taking part in the MTB-2018, Tawang,” he added.

He also informed that the MTB will be an annual event which will occur simultaneously with Tawang festival. The event is divided into Eastern and Western part, where eastern part participants will start from Roing or Tezu and culminate at Anini.

“The western part last year, which was started from Guwahati and was flagged off by the Assam Chief Minister will be the same. The participants will start from Guwahati and culminate at Tawang,” he said.

“The reason behind organizing the event along side with Tawang festival is to bring riders flow in the state and let them know more about the tradition, culture and spread the natural beauty of the state,” Dinglow added.
