NAGAON, June 19: Krishak Sramik Unnayan Parishad State committee has strongly opposed the recent initiative of the State government to open the Raha toll gate on NH-37 road. The president and general secretary of the organization, Mokul Borah and Utpal Boruah, in connection with the recent initiative of the government to open the toll gate, approached the Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon, Biswajit Pegu and submitted a memorandum and strongly opposed this move of the government. In the memorandum signed by the president and general secretary of the organization, it was stated that the government by managing some local organizations, secretly took the decision to open the toll gate and the organization would continue to fight against this move. The organization stated in the memorandum that it would never oppose if the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) could complete the entire project. But the authority still had to complete more than 40 per cent work of the road. The organization urged the government to complete the work first and then open the toll gate at Raha.
