MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa visits civil hospitals, health centres in Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR: Jorhat LS MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa visited Amguri Civil Hospital on Saturday. The Amguri Sachetan Nagrik Mancha had filed a complaint before the MP some days ago referring to various problems of the hospital and also asked the MP to take necessary action to improve the quality of healthcare of the hospital.

Hence, the MP visited the hospital and interacted with the hospital staff. The MP was apprised of various problems faced by the hospital like a shortage of doctors and an insufficient number of rooms, especially for burn injury patients and TB patients. Besides, there is no separate ward for babies and mothers and babies are treated in the same female ward.

Tasa assured to solve the problems as soon as possible. Moreover, the MP also went to the Amguri Urban Hospital cell in Amguri-Tuli Road and took stock of the services provided there. Tasa is the nodal Parliamentary Officer to all government health centers under Jorhat LS. He also visited Joysagar Civil Hospital and discussed various problems faced by the hospital with the hospital authorities. He went to the Banmukh Referral Health Centre on Saturday and inspected the health centre. The MP was accompanied by the Sivasagar Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. R. Borpujari, ADC SP Dewri and Amguri SDO A. Chetia.
