MPCC President Celestine Lyngdoh Confident of Party's Success

Shillong: The President of the Meghalya Pradesh Congress Committee( MPCC) Celestine Lyngdoh has shown confidence that the his party will come back to power in the state by the completion of the next year general elections.

Speaking to newsmen, Lyngdoh stated, "The people have been monitoring the performances of the NPP led government that was filled with tall promises" "They promises to lift the coal ban in six months and nothing is happening and see at the overall performances in dealing with the issues related to the state", Lyngdoh stated, adding, "we are are waiting and watch".

Asked further on whether there is a possible re-alignment of political parties after the 2019 general elections, the MPCC President said, "The outcome of the 2019 elections will tell it all. Note mentioning that the NPP is presently leading the MDA government alongside with 6 UDP legislators, two HSPDP. 4 PDF and support from three independent members. The Congress has a strength of 19 in the 60 member house.
