Winner to receive Rs. 1,25,000 : Special prize for State participants

GUWAHATI, March 31: 29th Mr. Saraighat All India Body Buidling Championship will be held at ITA Centre, Guwahati on April 3. Around 30 top body builders from different parts of the country will take part in the championship. 

Disclosing the news to the media the Secretary of the Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association Bhabajyoti Goswami today said that Classic Body Building championship for the players of Assam will also be held simultaneously during the competition.

This time winner of Mr. Saraighat will receive cash award of Rs one lakh and 25 thousand. Cash award for the second and third positions holders will be Rs one lakh and Rs 80,000 respectively. Cash awards will be given to the top ten position winners.

Goswami today also announced that first three position winners in the Classic Body Building Championship for Assam will also receive cash awards of Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. Agriculture Minister of Assam Atul Bora, who is also the president of the Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association, will iugurate the tourment and Assam Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal are expected to attend the closing function as a Chief Guest.

Meanwhile Goswami today also revealed that the response from the sponsor in this edition of competition is very poor and they were facing huge difficulties to host the meet. “It will be the 29th edition of the competition and I should admit that the response from the sponsor is very poor which created a lot of problems to us. The situation is reached in such a position that we don’t know whether it would be possible for us to organize the meet next year too.”

The media briefing was also attended by the Executive Chairman of Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association Basanta Das and renowned body builder N Bobby Singh.
