Itagar, April 1: Intensifying its fight against drug mece and making msai a drug-free district, a police team headed by DSP Sepraj Perme and msai police OC CB Rai raided the houses of Chow Chanta Khen and Chow Binoy Khen of Jenglai village under Piyong circle of the district on Saturday.

During the search, suspected contraband substances were seized along with cash, articles used for consuming the contrabands, light weighing machines, small plastic packets used for packaging drugs, an official release stated on Sunday.

The police registered two separate cases under various sections of rcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act – msai PS case No. 41/2018 u/s 17(a)/21(b) NDPS Act and msai PS case No. 40/2018 u/s 17(a)/21(b)/25/27(a) of NDPS Act – and started investigation.

The raid was conducted under the active supervision of msai SP CK Mein and the team comprising civil police and IRBn personnel, activists from Women Welfare Society msai and Nodal Officer of rcotics Cell of msai Olik Koyu, the release added.
