Mystery over missing body continues

Silchar, Dec 29: L Hemendra Singha (35), son of late L Baba Singha, a resident of Binkandie Part – I, was taking a ride on his own boat on Barak River, Lakhipur, when he slipped from the boat last Tuesday at 1 pm. Local people thoroughly searched for the body and informed the police when they failed to recover it. J R Lalsim, Additiol Deputy Commissioner, Cachar and in-charge, SDO (Civil), Lakhipur instructed the State Disaster Response Force personnel to make a thorough search. The SDRP personnel searched for the body for more than 2 hours but failed to find the body of Singha. It should be mentioned here that L Hemendra Singha belongs to a very poor family and the news has sent shockwaves to his family and friends. At the time of filing of this report, the body is yet to be traced out.
