New SRCS inaugurated

KOHIMA: A new Sub-Registrar of Co-operative Societies (SRCS) office was inaugurated at the SRCS office complex by Minister of Agriculture and Cooperation, G Kaito Aye here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister exhorted the people to work hard and be honest in repaying the loans taken from banks. He also assured that if the people are ready do work then banks will help them financially. The programme was chaired by ADC Satakha, TL Kiusumong Tikhir. Short speeches were delivered by Wepe Ritse, Registrar of Cooperative Societies Nagaland and L Akato Sema, Commissioner and Secretary, Cooperation Department and Imtila, SRCS Satakha delivered the vote of thanks, stated a DIPR release.

RERA review meeting

KOHIMA: A review meeting on implementation of Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA) and Urban Mission in the States of Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Sikkim was held in Kohima on Tuesday. Economic Adviser, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Anupam Mishra, elaborated on the implementation of RERA and mentioned that the construction industry is the largest employer after agriculture and housing. He said that the Central Act- Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA) was passed in March, 2016, to encourage greater transparency, accountability and financial discipline in the real estate sector. Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Durga Shanker Mishra gave a review on the presentation of RERA, Smart City Mission, PMAY, Swachh Bharat Mission, Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), MoHUA, stated a DIPR release.

Students felicitated

KOHIMA:  HSLC students of various school under Kiphire district were felicitated by the Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) at USBLA Retreat Centre on Wednesday. The students who were felicitated were: Arehintre Thuyo Lichungse Sangtam from Saramati Higher Secondary School, Longdiba Sangtam from Loyala Higher Secondary School, Leo S Sangtam from the Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire and Thelemcha of Pungro Government Higher Secondary School. Minister of Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining and Chairman Kiphire DPDB, Kashiho Sangtam gave away certificates and prizes to all the toppers. In his short speech, he encouraged the students to have ambition. He also urged the parents to care for their children and bring them up to be better persons in society as they are the leaders of the future, stated a DIPR release.

Rotavirus Vaccine meet

KOHIMA: The Dimapur District Task Force meeting on introduction of Rotavirus Vaccine (RVV) in Routine Immunization was held at the DC’s conference hall here on Wednesday. DPO, (RCH/UIP), Dr Rebecca Y Sema, who gave a power-point presentation on RVV, also highlighted the impact of Rotavirus scenario in India, The DPO said that Rotavirus Vaccine is the only specific prevention against Rotavirus diarrhea which will be administered to the child in three doses, five drops of vaccine in each dose starting from 6 weeks of age and then at 10 & 14 weeks. The vaccine will be available in all health centres free of cost by the last part of July 2019. The meeting was chaired by SDO (c) Dimapur, Kikato Chishi, stated a DIPR release.

Training programme

KOHIMA: The community mobilization and sensitization training programme on role and responsibilities of SMC, RTE ACT 2009, Quality (LEARNING OUTCOME, PINDICS and others), social audit, account maintenance, record keeping and shagunotsav, Mid-Day Meal (MDM), special training (OoSC), Shaala Shidi, etc., was conducted on at AMK Hall, Kohima on Tuesday. Addressing the participants, State Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, Kevileno Anagami said that the Government has constituted the school management committee (SMC) under the Nagaland Communitization of Public Institutions and Service Act, 2002 for the purpose of giving children free and compulsory education. The SMC was set up to monitor the working of the schools, prepare and recommend school development plan and to monitor the utilization of the grants received from the government and local authority or any other sources, she said. She appreciated the SMC, Rusoma Village, under Kohima district, for contributing their services not only with government assistance but with their own innovative ideas for the improvement of the schools, stated a DIPR release.
