International day for biological diversity at Zunheboto on May 22

KOHIMA: The Nagaland State Biodiversity Board (NSBB) will be celebrating the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB), with the theme "Our biodiversity, our food, our health," at Centre Church SBAK, Nito Mount, Zhuneboto, on May 22. Deputy Commissioner, Shanavas C, will grace the occasion as the special guest. An audio play on 'Biodiversity Conservation and its importance' will be launched on the same day. The programme is organized by the 'Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu' (SBAK), Nito Mount, in collaboration with the Nagaland State Biodiversity Board (NSSB), stated a release.

Spot verification of Pangsha International Trade Center

KOHIMA, May 19: A team of officers from the Department of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) Administration, Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME), Government of India, Village authorities went for spot verification to International Trade Center Dan (Pangsha) led by Commissioner and Secretary, Lithrongla G. Chishi, recently, stated a release. The team verified the feasibility of establishing a Haat at the International Trade Center, Pangsha, and various other aspects for the growth and development of the trade center. The Commissioner and Secretary advised the villagers to be more proactive and get prepared for all kinds of trading activities.

Peren camp for children with special needs held

KOHIMA, May 19: An assessment camp for children with special needs was conducted at EBRC Peren town on Thursday. Altogether 46 children with special needs attended the camp, stated a release. The official team from SMA, SSA Kohima along with Starkey Lab Noida, NRRC Dimapur; and observers from the Social Welfare Department, Sakhi contributed to the success of the camp. Talitemsu Jamir, MD SSA Kohima; Vinay Bhushan, Head IB Starkey Lab, Noida; Supongwati Jamir, NRRC Dimapur; Temsu Manen Jamir, SSA Kohima; Ramdi Thou Senior DEO Peren, DMA (SSA); and EBRC Peren staff assisted in organizing the camp. The assessment camp was under the supervision and monitoring of DMA (SSA) Peren, stated a release.

Mon DPDB meeting

KOHIMA, May 19: The monthly meeting of Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held at the DC's Conference Hall on Friday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Mon, Thavaseelan K, stated a release. The Board discussed on the issue for the creation of a new post of Forest Ranger or Beat Office in Chen, and decided to recommend to the higher authority for necessary action. On PowerPoint presentations, personnel of the Tourism and Youth Resources and Sports Departments presented their departmental activities with further explanation of the district office and its function. Additional Director General of Police (Border), Rupin Sharma suggested measures for the improvement of Tourism, Sports and childcare in the meeting.
