Nagaland Forest Division gets a giant lizard

Kohima: A Nagaland-based footballer named Roko Angami found a giant lizard at his farm, which he later handed over to the State wildlife division at Kohima.

Roko donated the lizard to the wildlife division officials at Blyth’s Tragopan Conservation & Breeding Centre, Kohima.

The giant lizard, weighing around two and a half kg and 3.4 feet long was found at his farm in Zhadima village under Kohima district.

Kiukhenshi S. Yimchunger, Forester- I Kohima said the lizard will be handed over to Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar Dimapur.

Kiukhenshi acknowledges Angami for coming forward voluntarily, thereby strengthening the wildlife conservation efforts in Nagaland. On July 28 this year, Roko along with Seyiekhrielie Rio, BDO Chiephobozou also donated eight feet long python to the wildlife division.
