Nagaon Police Arrest Two Youths for Allegedly Raping Minor Girl

Nagaon: It seems there is no end to the woes of women and children in Assam. In yet another shameful act of sexual crimes against women and children, two youths have been arrested by Nagaon police on Sunday evening for raping a 14-year-old school girl hailing from Batamari Village of Batadraba Nagaon. They have identified as Saidul Islam and Nasiruddin.

As per sources, a police team led by Dhan Das, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nagaon nabbed the culprits from Batadraba region.

It is to be mentioned here that a 14-year-old girl of Batamari village was allegedly gang-raped by two youths on August 28. The victim girl was returning from her school on Monday afternoon when two youths namely Saidul Islam and Nasir Uddin abducted her from the road and took her to Guwahati on a traveller passenger bus. The duo has reportedly raped her whole night in the bus and later in the next morning, they left her near Santijan area of Batadraba. The victim was recovered by her Uncle who took her home. As the girl narrated about the incident to her parents, they immediately lodged an FIR in Batadraba Police Station.

Batadraba police registered a case 243/18 under section 366(A)/54 IPC and R/W section 4 POCSO and finally succeeded to apprehend the two culprits.
