NAMRUP, May 25: Keeping up its previous glory, BVFC Model High School here brought laurels to Namrup by securing the 8nd and 10th positions. Ashish Handique bagged the 8th position with 97.6 per cent marks by securing 586 marks out of 600. He obtained 92 in Assamese, 96 in English, 100 in General Mathematics, 100 in General Science, 99 in Social Sciences and 99 in Advance Mathematics. He is the son of Suren Handique and Tutumoni Handique.
Besides, Syeda Inaya Tabussum, daughter of Abdul Syed Imadur Rahman and Syeda Sazida Rahman secured the 10th position by scoring 584 with marks out of 600 with 97.3 percentages. She obtained 93 in Assamese, 96 in English, 100 in General Mathematics, 98 in General Science, 99 in Social Science and 98 in Advance Mathematics.
Ashish Handique who secured 8th position wants to be an engineer while Syeda Inaya Tabussum wants to become a doctor. It may be added that all total 412 students appeared in the HSLC examination 2018 from Namrup centre out of which 195 students came out successful. 98 students secured 1st division and the overall pass percentage is 47.33.
