National Fire Service Day observed

Namrup, April 19: Along with other parts of the country, the National Fire Service Day was observed at BVFCL fire unit premises recently with great enthusiasm. The programme started with the hoisting of Fire Service Day flag. The open session held on the occasion was conducted by Sanjay Moheswari, Finance Director BVFCL, while Biren Dutta, Officer, Fire Department, BVFCL explained the objective of the meet. Besides, Tileswar Borha, general secretary of NFSU, in his speech dwelt at length on the increasing role and responsibilities of the fire services in confronting natural calamities or any other man-made mishaps. He too appreciated the dedication of BVFCL fire-fighting unit in protecting property and lives of the employees of the 2nd and 3rd unit of BVFCL along with the entire township of Namrup.
