National Statistics Day observed

GUWAHATI, June 29: The National Sample Survey Office (Field Operations Division), Guwahati has observed the 12thNational Statistics Day on Friday at Shilpgram, North Eastern Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) near Kalashetra with the theme ‘Quality Assurance in Official Statistics’. While inaugurating the function, Additional Director General, North East Zone, NSSO (FOD) Harbiner Singh emphasized the need for quality in data collection, its reliability and timeliness. Attending the occasion as guest of honour, Prof Amit Choudhury, Department of Statistics, Gauhati University was made a presentation on ‘Quality Assurance in Official Statistics’. The senior level Officers and Staff from NSSO (FOD), Zonal and Regional Offices, Guwahati also attended the programme besides students of statistics.
