NCP captains call on central leadership

 From A Reporter

SHILLONG, Dec 30: Meghalaya tiolist Congress Party (NCP) working president Vijay Raj, general secretary SP Thapa, tiolist Youth Congress State president Torang R Marak and MLA Saleng A Sangma met NCP central leaders at New Delhi on December 27 to apprise them of the political situation in Meghalaya.
Rajya Sabha Member Praful Patel, party’s Northeast in-charge rendra Verma and other leaders who were present in the meeting discussed various means to strengthen the NCP in Meghalaya.
After a threadbare discussion, it was resolved that the party shall put up candidates in all the constituencies in the forthcoming Assembly election, if possible, and the central leaders have authorised SP Thapa to sign the Form-A & B (tickets for NCP candidates).
As the last convention held in Tura could not be attended by Praful Patel, it was decided that another convention would be held sometime between 14th and 18th January 2018 at Tura.
The State NCP leaders also submitted a list of probable candidates to the central leaders who, after going through, found it to be satisfactory and have authorised the State committee to take a fil call on selection and filisation of candidates.
