NCP hits back at BJP, alleges Taga of conspiracy

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

ITAGAR, Nov 23: The State unit of the tiolist Congress Party (NCP) on Monday claimed that the impeachment motion called by the leader of opposition Tamiyo Taga with two independent MLAs against State legislative assembly Speaker bam Rebia is an uncalled for decision.

“BJP’s move for an impeachment motion against Speaker bam Rebia at this movement is not genuine. How can BJP file an impeachment against the speaker when the disqualification case of the MLAs is under sub judice in the court? This is nothing but countering the impeachment motion file against the Deputy Speaker Tenzing Norbu Thungdok by the MLAs for his dissident activities against the Chief Minister bam Tuki instead of upholding the dignity of statutory body of legislative assembly,” a statement from NCP vice president Nima Sangey Saling said.

“The Speaker acts as neutral umpire between the ruling party and the opposition. Deputy speaker T Norbu’s open dissidence activities against sitting chief minister by violating all laid down rules and regulations of statutory body of legislative assembly deserved impeachment and removal. It was the biggest blunder committed by the deputy speaker which will always leave a negative impression in the political history of Aruchal Pradesh,” he added.

Further stating that the Opposition leader Tamiyo Taga should use his conscience before giving any sensitive statements, Nima clarified that the Tarasso incident was born out of border disputes of Assam and Aruchal Pradesh.

“It is known a known fact that the outfits were involved in the Tarasso firing case in order to create a misunderstanding between two brotherly States of Assam and Aruchal Pradesh. No doubt the Government of Assam handed over the case to CBI for further investigation. Taga’s allegation stating that Speaker bam Rebia is involved in the Tarasso firing case is a meaningless and provocative allegation for which he deserves condemtion from every Aruchalee,” NCP president Gicho Kabak added.

Alleging that it may be Tamiyo Taga who might have instigated the outfit to create law and order problems at Tarasso circle to defame bam Rebia who is also the local MLA of the area, Kabak stated that being an Aruchalee one cannot tolerate such unwanted statement.

“There may be a pre-planned political conspiracy behind the Tarasso firing case by the opposition leader to defame and topple the Tuki led Congress government in the State. The central and State government’s intelligence agency should put him under its intelligence radar in connection with the Tarasso firing case. Since the case is under the active investigation by the CBI and let the law takes its own course of action,” the State NCP president further added.

It is to be mentioned here that 11 BJP MLAs along with two independent MLAs led by leader of opposition Tamiyo Taga has called for an impeachment motion against Speaker bam Rebia alleging him of disqualifying two MLAs mely Gabriel Denwang Wangsu and Wanglam Sawin without observing proper formalities.

The State BJP had also alleged that Rebia was also involved in Tarasso firing case which is as if now under the CBI.
