NCP hopeful of 10-15 seats

 From a Reporter

SHILLONG, Feb 10:  The tiolist Congress party (NCP) that has fielded 21 candidates is quite optimistic that the party would win at least 10-15 seats in the upcoming polls.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, NCP candidate from South Shillong Vikash Gupta said the party has an ideology of co-existence, peace and development, while expressing confidence that the party will do well in different parts of the State.
Gupta also stressed that the youth need to be provided with a platform even as he lamented that  the youth have been used as instrument by the politicians,  especially during elections.
Ruing that unemployment is increasing in the State, he said the youth should be made aware of their power.
Asserting that the  MLAs of the constituency for the past many years have not done much for the  constituency,  he said the constituency also does not have basic facilities like  proper public toilets and drinking water facilities like water ATM for common   people.  It may be mentioned that the South Shillong constituency is heading for a multi-cornered contest between BJP’s Sanbor Shullai, Congress’s Mas Chaudhuri, NPP’s Sounder Cajee, NCP’s Vikash Gupta and  RPI’s  Moon Lyngdoh.
