Nehru wasn't a Pandit as he ate beef, pork , says BJP MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja

Alwar: In yet another controversial statement, BJP MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja from Rajasthan's Alwar has sparked a squabble by calling India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru a "beef and pork eater".

The MLA from Ramgarh constituency in Alwar has lambasted the Gandhi-Nehru dynasty by allegedly blaming them for all the social evils prevailing in the country.

The MLA responded to state Congress chief Sachin Pilot's statement that Rahul Gandhi had learnt to visit temples from his grandmother Indira Gandhi saying, " Nehru cannot be a pandit as he ate beef and pork. Congress has prefixed pandit before his name".

Remaining defiant on his stand, the Rajasthan MLA said that Rahul Gandhi never visited temples with his grandmother and if proven wrong, he would step down from his post.

He also castigated the Congress party for involving in caste politics and demanded that all monuments named after the members of the Gandhi family be demolished.

In 2016, during the JNU incident, Ahuja had created a storm of controversy by alleging that the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was a hub of sex and drugs where over 3,000 used condoms and 2,000 liquor bottles were found daily.
