New executive body of ABSU takes oath

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 27: The swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet body of the ABSU was held on Monday at the PWD Guest House, Kaziganga.

The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by Khungkra Swargiary, adviser, and this event was iugurated by ren Chandra Basumatary, SDO (Civil), Dhansiri and ADC, Golaghat and was also attended by Raju Phukan, organizing secretary of AASU, where the representatives from the district committees of ABSU were present.

The new executive body members, along with all the volunteers of ABSU, took oath and vowed to work dedicatedly for effective social change and development. The new activists of the ABSU swore to continue vigorous democratic mass movement for immediate solution of the Bodoland issue, to intensify mass revolution from March for Bodoland and to intensify the movement for solution of Assam-related issues like education, textbook distribution, forest right and land rights.

The ‘Denkhwmu Se-Nwi-Tham’ competition organized by ABSU will be held in memory of great revolutiory singer Dwikhrong Khungur Basumatary under the title ‘Dwikhrong Khungur Memorial Denkhwmu Se-Nwi-Tham’ from next year.
