New hope for rubber growers of Karbi Anglong

HAMREN, Feb 25: A meeting was held in the Karbi Anglong District Autonomous Council conference hall recently under the president ship of Jayshree Dalagapu, Principal Secretary, KAAC, in the presence of members of Rubber Board and Manimalayar Rubbers Pvt Ltd, a Rubber Board-owned company, and Karbi Anglong District Rubber Growers Association, Diphu.

The objective of the meeting was to sign a MoU between Manimalayan Rubbers Pvt Ltd and KARGA for establishment of a franchise of the company in Diphu for the greater interest of the rubber growers of Karbi Anglong district to facilitate the growers with marketing support of tural rubber and other plantation machineries and estate inputs. Additiol Rubber Production Commissioner of Rubber Board,  K Rajagopalan ir, Maging Director, Manimalayan Rubbers Pvt Ltd. Dr, B Rajeevan, General Mager of Manimalayar Rubbers Pvt Ltd, Guwahati,  Basanta Bas, and Assistant Development Officer RO gaon,  Biswajit Chakraborty were the representative from the Rubber Board side while Soising Rongpi, president of KARGA, Longsing Teron, general secretary and Sanju Phangcho, assistant general secretary, were the representatives of KARGA.  After the meeting, a MoU was signed between both the parties for the greater interest of rubbers growers so that the farm gate price of tural rubber is more for the growers. This MoU will open a new door of marketing. KARGA representative demanded opening of a Rubber Board Regiol Office at Diphu. For land and other assistance, Rubber Board was asked to forward the proposal of land and building to Karbi Anglong District Autonomous Council. Principal Secretary  Jayshree  Daulagapu asked the representative to submit their proposal at the earliest so that it could be materialized during the next fincial year.
